Faculty engaged or interested in interdisciplinary research projects are invited to join the next UC Humanities Research Plus webinar on February 23 from 1:30-2:30 pm. UC Santa Barbara Associate Director of Research Development Brandon Fastman will talk about interdisciplinary collaboration with Ann Taves, Professor of Religious Studies at UCSB. To bridge the humanities and the sciences, Taves has established the Religion, Experience, and Mind (REM) Lab Group. Its goals are to assist in the development of individual and collaborative research projects, including papers, dissertations, and grant proposals, that seek to understand the interaction of religion, experience, and mind across traditions and cultures. Fastman and Taves will discuss how humanities centers and research development staff can create an environment for fostering productive collaborations with researchers from across the disciplines and how to nurture such collaborations into successful proposals. Faculty interested in joining the webinar should email nerstad@ihc.ucsb.edu for the Zoom meeting link.
