Anna Bax graduated in Spring 2020 with a Ph.D. from the Department of Linguistics. She is a sociocultural linguist fascinated by the connections between language, identity, power, and inequality. Her dissertation research focused on young Mixtec women’s multilingual identity practices in the California context. Anna was appointed Assistant Professor in Linguistics at CSU Long Beach in Fall 2020.
