The story of Pinocchio has had universal appeal since its appearance in 1883. In this original performance combining literature, theater, dance and music, the wooden puppet comes to life from the imagination of playwright-director Massimiliano Finazzer Flory, the movements of dancer Michela Lucenti, and the music of Nino Rota (Federico Fellini’s composer). Sponsored by the Italian government as part of the celebrations for the “Year of Italian Culture in the US,” Pinocchio will come to UCSB for one performance only.
