UCSB Medieval Studies Graduate Student Conference

The Medieval Studies Program at UCSB presents an interdisciplinary graduate student conference focused on the theme of “Movement and Mobility in the Middle Ages.” Professor William Tronzo (UC San Diego) will deliver the keynote address on “Justinian’s Hagia Sophia, restlessness, angels, and oblivion.” Paper presentations begin at 9 a.m., with panels on “Culture: The Transformation of Images and Tropes,” “Identity: Exploring Confession, Status, and Disability,” and “Power: The Politics of Movement.”
