Theater & Dance Building: Courtyard & Room 1530
With graphic novels, sequential art, comic books becoming more prevalent in scholarship and education, the need for interdisciplinary conversation grows so that we might collaboratively imagine the future of the graphic narrative. How does this literacy provide new avenues for understanding cultures? How do we incorporate visual narrative texts into the classroom? Join Regents’ Lecturer Scott McCloud and fellow UCSB faculty and graduate students for an informal roundtable on these questions and a celebration of the winners of UCSB’s first April Fool’s Comics Competition.
Sponsored by the Dept. of Art, College of Creative Studies, the Dept. of Theater & Dance, the UCSB Arts Library, the Writing Program and the IHC.
